Monogrammed Gifts

Monogrammed gifts are typically given at events such as bridal showers, weddings, anniversaries and graduations, however, any occasion will do. Now days, monograms can be seen on just about anything. The most common items to have monogrammed are table and bed linens, towels, crystal, jewelry, silverware and personal stationary.

Many people recognize a monogram as initials or a set of letters combined to make one sign of identity, however unconventional monograms can include a full name. Monogrammed gifts can reflect the recipient’s personality by simply selecting the appropriate type monogram. In addition to choosing which letters and style to use, other ways of varying a monogram include font selection, size and color. Monograms can be playful, flamboyant, traditional, elegant, or understated.

If you are unsure about what type of monograms to use for your monogrammed gifts, traditional monograms are always the best bet. Traditional monograms are three initials in the Victorian format; first initial, large last initial, middle initial. There is also the male monogram of same-size letters; first, middle, last initials. Married monograms usually consist of the bride’s first initial on the left, the groom’s first initial on the right, and the joint last name initial larger in the center.
